Our Queen Bees are mated, proven layers. We will guarantee the Queen alive in her cage for 3 days while she’s being introduced to your colony under the requirement that you place her into the hive right after picking her up from our store. If we give you a Queen in a cup with attendants, you will remove the Queen Cage from the cup and place the cage on a frame towards the center of the Hive.

If given a Cork, you will wait until the 3rd day to remove the cork and replace with a marshmallow.
If given a candy plug, you will check on day 3-4 that the Queen was released from the cage.

If you are splitting or re-queening a hive, we recommend your colony has been Queen-less for 24 hours minimum prior to introducing a new Queen.

Do not leave a Queen without attendant bees to take care of her.

Do not use a marshmallow in place of the cork on day one of installing your new Queen. Marshmallows can be eaten in 30-60 mins and your colony needs 3 days to acclimate to your new queens pheromones before she is released.
